URBANISATION IMPACT ON ENVIRONBMENTAL QUALITY

By now you should know what Urbanization is a process indicating growth of urban centre in number as well as the population occupying these centre. It specifically means a process involving an increased in the proportion of the population, that is urban in relation to the increase in the proportion of the total population as in relation to the proportion of non-urban population of a region.
Urbanization as phenomena is not static but changing overtime being dynamic.


Urbanization is an index of transformation from traditional rural economics to modern industrial one. It is progressive concentration ( (Dawis) 1965) of population in urban unit. Qualification of urbanization is very difficult. It is a long term process. Urbanization as process of switch run spread out pattern of human settlement to one of concentration in urban centre (Dawis, 1962). It is a finite process a cysts trough which a nation pass as they evolved from agrarian to industrial society (Davis and Golden 1954). art



STATEMENT OF PROBLEM


Since Benin City became the state capital of Edo state a lot of people have migrated and still migrate from the rural area and even from some urban area and even from since urban areas into it. They come in search of job opportunities, apprenticeship trading, school etc. due to trucks migration of people from different areas into Benin urban, problem of accommodation started. Over population in the area has lead to overcrowding many people live in crowded areas which affected the health and living standard of people.
These lead to environment population in Benin City over crowding increase the risk of disease infection, rate of crime social disorganization etc. This problematic situation prompted this study.


AIM


To examine the existing condition of people migrating from rural areas to urban areas interm of searching of white collar.

OBJECTIVE


1. To identifies impact of rural urban migration an housing in Benin
2. To identifies the effect of rural – urban migration in living standard or people on unemployment migrate in Benin urban.
3. To consider the factor that makes people to migrate from rural to urban areas.
